vintage DEBETTE ladies curved double-edge safety razor c.1932—Bakelite—open comb

Offered for your consideration is an antique
DEB’ETTE
ladies’ curved, open comb safety razor
, USA-manufactured c.1932. The patent for this razor was applied for in January, 1932 per online search, and the bottom section underside bears a “PAT APL’D FOR” imprint.  DEB’ETTE does not appear on the upper plate as later examples would have.  This three-piece razor is constructed of chrome-plated metal with attractive butterscotch-colored handle that tested positive as being Bakelite.
So, please have a look at my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this hard-to-find DEB’ETTE ladies razor should be yours.
This DEB’ETTE razor is in clean, very good condition.  It measures 2⅝” at longest by 1⅝” at head’s widest (measured from underside).  There are no cracks, dings, scratches, or any residue on the Bakelite handle, just a few tiny marks from the years.  Plus, the shaving head is in nice shape with just the expected micro-scratches and minimal finish loss, as pictured.  I gave it a basic hand wash before taking these pictures.  Any deep cleaning or detailing is purely at the new owner’s discretion since, overall, it presents very nicely as pictured.
What's more, the DEB’ETTE can use standard Gillette-pattern double edge blades; an old Gillette Blue Blade was in there when it came into my possession.  Curved blades that were made for some competing models might work as well, but those are becoming increasingly hard to come by.  The Gillette blade, with its inherent flexibility, was a perfect fit.  Lastly, the blade guard features a small blade exposure adjustment range.
So, as pictured and described, this vintage DEB’ETTE ladies curved safety razor is offered at a competitive price.
